What is Store Manager add-on and how does it work?

Add-Ons are designed to automate and improve typical tasks/operations made by store owners or managers.

Add-on (also referred as plugin) is an external module in form of Windows .dll file extending Store Manager functionality adding new features. Every add-on has own .dll file. For example "Mass product Changer" stored in masschangerx.dll file. There are few simple conditions for add-on to work:

1. Add-on .dll file should be located in "\Plugins" subfolder of main program directory.
2. Add-on should be registered in the same way as software - using first name and last name. If add-on is not registered it work in DEMO mode - you can do everything with it except for you will not be able to post actual changes to your database.

Why add-on, why you just did not extend base Store Manager functionality?

Major reasons are compatibility and extensibility. Actually we planning to bring support for some most popular contributions and allow Store Manager to work with them. At the same time software should work with base (standard) shopping cart being compatible with it. Add-On can add new functionality and can be used only by people who have specific contributions and will not affect all other people.

Add-on is small peace of functionality, it can be used along with DEMO version of the software. You do not have to purchase Store Manager just purchase add-on - it saves your money.

Where can I download add-ons and how to setup them in the software?

Just open "Preferences" and activate "Plugins" page.

Store Manager retrieves add-ons list automatically, you do not need to setup something for this. All available add-ons will be listed here.

Column description:

1. Add-On name - add-on name
2. Active - activate or deactivate current add-on
3. Available version - add-on version currently available for download, actually it is most recent version number
4. Current (local) version - currently installed add-on version
5. Status - current add-on status
   • Not Installed - add-on file does not exists, you have to download this add-on in order to start working with it
   • Not Active - add-on is not activated
   • DEMO/Unregistered - your add-on currently running in DEMO mode. Click a ling below to register it
   • Active - add-on installed and registered. You can use it!

How can I use add-on , where can I find functionality extension?

This depends on particular add-on. Some of them can add extra menu items in main menu or popup menu on some form. Others can create additional buttons on left side bar etc. See add-on description page for more information.

Registration, licenses and other stuff.

Plugin registration work in the same way as Store Manager registration - no differences. See Store Manager support regarding registration and possible problems. You can reset add-on license in the same way as main software license.
